Which Pakistani Document Do You Need Translated?
Most Pakistani civil documents are written in Urdu, sometimes with English field labels. A document from NADRA, a Union Council, or a Family Court needs a certified English translation before an overseas immigration authority will accept it. Select the document that applies to your situation.
Nikah Nama Translation
The Nikah Nama (also written as Nikahnama or Nikah Namah) is the official Pakistani Islamic marriage contract. The Nikah registrar completes it at the marriage, and a copy is filed with the Union Council, which registers the marriage and issues the computerized Marriage Registration Certificate (MRC). It records both spouses' names, the mehr (dower) amount, date and place of marriage, and witness signatures. A certified English translation is required for UK spouse visa applications, USCIS I-130 petitions, and IRCC spousal sponsorship.
Urdu Birth Certificate Translation
Pakistani birth certificates are issued by NADRA in computerized format or by local Union Councils in older handwritten format. Both record the child's name, date of birth, and both parents' details in Urdu. Required for UK child and family visas, USCIS adjustment of status, IRCC permanent residency, and any legal proceeding where parentage must be established abroad.
Pakistan Divorce Certificate Translation
Pakistani divorce documents include the Talaq Nama issued by a Union Council, the Khula certificate granted by a Family Court, the court divorce decree, and the NADRA divorce registration certificate. All are in Urdu and required for UK remarriage visa applications, USCIS I-130 remarriage petitions, and IRCC spousal sponsorship where a prior marriage must be declared.
Family Registration Certificate (FRC) Translation
The NADRA Family Registration Certificate lists every registered family member's full name, date of birth, and relationship to the head of household. It records the family as one registered unit, not a single person. UKVI may ask for it in spouse visa applications, and USCIS, IRCC, or a court may ask for it as proof of family relationships, for example in sponsorship, inheritance, or custody cases abroad.
Why Pakistani Documents Require Certified Translation
Pakistani civil records come from several bodies: NADRA, Union Councils, Family Courts, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The UK, US, and Canadian immigration offices each require an English translation of any Urdu document, and each sets its own rules for who may prepare it.
MOFA attestation and certified translation are two separate steps. MOFA attestation confirms the document is genuine, and since Pakistan joined the Apostille Convention on 9 March 2023 it takes the form of an apostille for member countries. Certified translation converts the Urdu content into English with a signed statement from the translator confirming accuracy and completeness. Whether you need the attestation depends on the authority, so check your checklist.
A certified translation from Pro Translation Service includes a signed Certificate of Accuracy on our letterhead, with the translator's name, the date, and contact details. That covers the translation rules in paragraph 39B of the UK Immigration Rules and 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) for USCIS. For Canada, read IRCC's translation requirements, which also require a certified translator or an affidavit. The same translation can often be reused across applications.
Who Needs Pakistani Document Translation?
Certified translation of Pakistani documents is required across a wide range of immigration situations. British Pakistanis, overseas Pakistanis in the US, and Pakistani communities in Canada all need certified Urdu to English translations as part of their applications.

What Sets Our Pakistani Document Translations Apart
General translation services treat all documents the same. They do not. A Nikah Nama is a numbered form with columns for dower (13 to 16), special conditions (17), and the delegated right of divorce (18). A NADRA FRC is a multi-row table listing every family member individually. An older Union Council birth certificate may be entirely handwritten in classical Nastaliq. Each document type needs a translator who knows its exact structure as well as Urdu.
Every Pakistani Document Format Covered NADRA certificates, Union Council records, Family Court decrees, and MOFA-attested copies are all translated at the same flat rate. Pick your document from the cards above to see what we translate on each one.
One Set of Translations for UKVI, USCIS, and IRCC Files Applicants to UKVI, USCIS, and IRCC face different paperwork rules. Each translation carries the elements UKVI and USCIS ask for, so one set can go to either. IRCC adds its own rule that the translator be certified or provide an affidavit, so check its checklist before you submit.
Concurrent Translation for Full Document Sets A UK spouse visa file usually needs a Nikah Nama, both partners' birth certificates, and often an FRC, plus a divorce certificate if there was an earlier marriage. Upload them together and we work on the full set at once. The 24-hour delivery covers the whole order when it totals up to 3 pages; longer orders get a delivery time with your quote.
$22.99 Per Page: Same Rate Across Every Document Type Nikah Namas, FRCs, birth certificates, and divorce certificates cost the same per page. We do not charge by the word or add surcharges for handwriting, MOFA stamps, or court seals. Upload as many documents as you need in one order.
Urdu Nastaliq Script, Including Older Handwritten Records Documents from before computerization (Union Council birth certificates, older Nikah Namas, handwritten Talaq Namas) are written in classical Urdu Nastaliq that not every Urdu translator can read reliably. Where handwriting cannot be read, the translator marks the passage as illegible in brackets instead of guessing.
100% Acceptance Guarantee If UKVI, USCIS, or IRCC rejects your translation because of a translation problem, send us the rejection notice and we will refund your order in full. Free revisions are included for 14 days after delivery; after that, a small revision fee applies. This covers every Pakistani document type on this page.
What Every Certified Pakistani Document Translation Includes
Regardless of which Pakistani document you are submitting (a Nikah Nama for a UK spouse visa, a NADRA birth certificate for USCIS, an FRC for Canadian spousal sponsorship, or a divorce certificate for any authority), every translation from Pro Translation Service includes the same core deliverables.
Every order includes a complete English translation of every field, heading, and entry on the original document. Nothing is abbreviated, summarized, or left in Urdu. All official stamps, NADRA barcodes, MOFA attestation marks, court seals, and registrar signatures are clearly noted in the translation, as required by immigration standards. The layout of the translation mirrors the source document so an immigration officer can verify the English translation against the original field by field.
Every translation is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Accuracy on official letterhead, confirming the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent in both Urdu and English.
It also gives the translator's name, the date, and contact details, which covers the UKVI rule in paragraph 39B of Part 1 of the Immigration Rules and the USCIS rule in 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). IRCC separately requires a certified translator or an affidavit, so check its checklist. The certified PDFs are delivered within 24 hours for documents up to 3 pages and are ready to attach to your application.
Free revisions are included for 14 days after delivery; after that, a small revision fee applies. If an authority rejects a translation because of a translation problem, send us the rejection notice and we will refund the order in full. For document-specific details of exactly what we translate on each form, including field-by-field breakdowns for Nikah Namas, B-Forms, FRC rows, Talaq Namas, and Khula certificates, visit the individual document pages above.
