Certified Pashto to English translation of Afghan and Pakistani documents, from the Tazkira to school certificates and court papers, for USCIS, UKVI and IRCC. $22.99 per page, 24 hour delivery for up to 3 pages.
Pashto is an official language of Afghanistan and widely spoken in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. It uses a Perso-Arabic script with extra letters that Dari and Urdu do not have. We translate Pashto documents into English with a signed Certificate of Accuracy.
- Afghan Tazkiras and bilingual Pashto and Dari forms, translated in full
- Personal letters, affidavits and statements written in Pashto
- Pakistani documents are usually in Urdu or English; see our Urdu page for those

What Makes Pashto Documents Different
- Pashto uses letters such as ټ, ډ, ړ and ښ that Dari, Farsi and Urdu do not use. A translator who only reads Dari or Urdu can misread names and place names
- Afghan records list a person by their own name, their father's name and often their grandfather's name. We keep each in its own field and never invent a surname
- Afghan dates use the Solar Hijri calendar. We give each date as written and add the Gregorian date in brackets
- Spelling of Pashto names in Latin letters varies widely. We match your passport spelling when you send it
Pashto, Dari or Urdu?
Afghan official documents often print Pashto and Dari side by side, and we translate both at the same rate. If your document is entirely in Dari, our Dari page covers it. Pakistani government documents are normally issued in Urdu or English, even in Pashto-speaking provinces, so use our Urdu or Pakistani documents pages for those. If you are not sure, upload it and we route it to the right translator.

Pashto Letters and How Names Are Spelled in English
Pashto uses the Arabic script with extra letters for sounds that Persian and Urdu do not have, such as ټ, ډ, څ, ښ, ږ, ړ, ځ and ڼ. The same name can be romanized in several ways depending on which letter is used and how the writer pronounces it.
Our Pashto to English translation follows the spelling in your passport when you send it. Where there is no passport spelling, we use a consistent romanization across every document in the order and tell you which one we used.
- Tribal and family names such as those ending in -zai or -khel are kept as written, not shortened
- Titles such as Haji or Malik are kept and identified as titles where they are not part of the legal name
- Names that appear in both Pashto and Dari on the same form are checked against each other
Northern and Southern Pashto on Documents
Pashto has two main written varieties. Speakers around Peshawar and in eastern Afghanistan often say and write the language as Pakhto, while southern speakers, around Kandahar, say Pashto. The difference shows up in how some letters are pronounced, and so in how names are spelled in English.
A letter read as sh in the south may be read as kh in the north, which is why the same family name can appear in two spellings on different documents. Our Pashto translators read both varieties and keep the spelling consistent across your file.
