Dari Translation Services
Certified Dari to English translation of Afghan documents, including the Tazkira, marriage certificates, school records and employment letters, for USCIS, UKVI and IRCC. $22.99 per page, 24 hour delivery for up to 3 pages.
Dari is the Afghan form of Persian and one of Afghanistan's two official languages. Afghan documents are often bilingual Dari and Pashto and use the Solar Hijri calendar with Afghan month names. They record a person by their own name and their father's and grandfather's names rather than a family surname. Our translators handle all of this.
- Paper Tazkira and e-Tazkira, marriage certificates, school and university records, employment letters
- Bilingual Dari and Pashto documents translated in full at one rate
- Afghanistan is not a Hague Apostille member, so originals are legalized rather than apostilled
Afghan Documents We Translate
| Document | Often needed for |
|---|---|
| Tazkira (paper) and e-Tazkira (electronic national ID) | Identity and date of birth for immigration filings |

| Employment letters and contracts | Special Immigrant Visa evidence, work history |
| Passports and visas with handwritten notes | Travel and identity history |
| Court rulings, police records and affidavits | Asylum cases and legal proceedings |
Every stamp, seal, handwritten entry and photo caption is translated, not summarized.
What Makes Afghan Documents Different
- Names. Many Afghans have no family surname. A Tazkira lists the holder's name, the father's name and often the grandfather's name. We keep each one in its own field and never merge them into an invented surname
- Dates. Afghan documents use the Solar Hijri calendar with month names such as Hamal, Saur and Jawza, which differ from the Iranian month names. We give each date as written and add the Gregorian date in brackets
- Two languages on one page. Official forms are often printed in Dari and Pashto side by side. We translate every part that is not already in English
- Approximate birth dates. Some older paper Tazkiras record a person's age in a given year rather than an exact birth date. We translate exactly what is written and do not add a date that is not there
Dari vs Farsi: Which Page Do You Need?
Dari and Iranian Farsi are forms of the same Persian language and use the same script, with differences in vocabulary, spelling and administrative terms. Documents from Afghanistan belong on this page. Documents from Iran belong on our Farsi/Persian page. The price is the same either way, so if you are not sure, upload the document and we route it correctly.
Authentication of Afghan Documents
Afghanistan has not joined the Hague Apostille Convention, so Afghan originals cannot be apostilled. When an authority asks for authentication, the document goes through consular legalization instead. USCIS, UKVI and IRCC usually ask only for a complete certified English translation. Our translation is the same in either case, and covers any legalization stamps on the document.

Afghan Solar Hijri Months and Their Gregorian Dates
Afghan documents date events in the Solar Hijri calendar, using month names that differ from those used in Iran. The year starts at the spring equinox, around March 21.
| Afghan month | Approximate Gregorian dates |
|---|---|
| Hamal | March 21 to April 20 |
| Saur | April 21 to May 21 |
| Jawza | May 22 to June 21 |
| Saratan | June 22 to July 22 |
| Asad | July 23 to August 22 |
| Sunbula | August 23 to September 22 |
| Mizan | September 23 to October 22 |
| Aqrab | October 23 to November 21 |
| Qaws | November 22 to December 21 |
| Jadi | December 22 to January 20 |
| Dalw | January 21 to February 19 |
| Hut | February 20 to March 20 |
Add 621 to the Solar Hijri year for dates from Hamal to Jadi 10 (to December 31), and 622 from January 1 to the end of Hut. We convert each date individually.
